The End is near - The modern Pop Culture

Few days ago, I met one of my students wearing a cap. It seems ordinary and usually in the days of summer, people especially students wear caps, but the thing which caught my attention was not his cap but the logo printed on it. That logo was closed to the letter “M” but actually it was not. It was the combination of the Hebrew letter “Vav”.

If we write the letter “Vav” three times, it will seem like a “M” and more interestingly it is the sixth letter of the Hebrew alphabets. So, I easily concluded that the three times “Vav” means 666, which is actually the Number of Beast (The Antichrist) as mentioned in Bible:

15-And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.

16-And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads :

17-and that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

18-Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the  beast : for it is the number of a man ; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

At that time, I knew nothing about this logo but after doing some research, I figure out that it is the logo of an American company called “Monster Beverages Corporation”.  After going through their website, I find out that their aim and ambitions are to promote the modern pop culture. As written on their website:

In short, at Monster all our guys walk the walk in action sports, punk rock music, partying, hangin’ with the girls, and living life on the edge. Monster is way more than an energy drink. Led by our athletes, musicians, employees, distributors and fans, Monster is...A lifestyle in a can. 

Not only this, their slogan is also very interesting, which is “Unleash the Beast!” These all things are now getting connected. Monster, 666, The Beast all sign are pointing out to none other than the Antichrist.

So what’s the connection between the Antichrist and the Modern Pop culture? Let’s explore it. A pop culture is something, which is beyond the political boundaries of the world and this modern pop culture is spread by transmitting its contents through mass media like Television, Newspapers, and Internet etc. The target of this new pop culture is mostly the younger people who can easily deceived by the colorful advertisements and glamour. This pop culture includes mostly entertainment like music, acting, movies, and drama including fashion. The people belongs to entertainment industry are usually the Icons and Idols of this modern pop culture. They have a huge fan followings. Their fans, now followers follow everything their Icon do in their life whether it is right or wrong. From hair cut to outfits, they copy their idol in every aspect because the icons are now become the Idols.

Pop/Rock stars are now become Idols all over the world.

People, especially younger generation follow these pop icons blindly and they get nothing from them except moral destruction. The people related to this pop culture, usually entertainment industry are the most controversial people in this world. Their life style is the worst case scenario for anyone. They openly perform adultery, most of them also homosexuals or bisexuals and also they are drug addicts. Drinking alcohol, taking heroin and cocaine and other form of drugs is common in their life style.

Hadhrat Ali Bin Abi Taalib (radhiyallahu anhu) narrates that Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said: "When my Ummah indulges in fifteen misdeeds, calamities will settle on them. Among these are singing girls and musical instruments."

Singers and musicians are the important part of today’s pop culture. People indulged with this pop culture argue that music is pure entertainment and universal language of love and their pop icons (Singers, Actors) are spreading the love and happiness to the world. But the truth behind this beautiful lie is so much bitter. World’s Leading female pop singers including Madonna, Lady Gaga, Britney spears, Katy Perry, Rihanna and others are not promoting love and happiness, in fact they are working on the satanic agenda to spread misdeeds and to earn money by whatever it takes. Their songs and videos contain extremely disturbing and misleading ideas including Satanism, homosexuality, fornication, nudity and blasphemy.

The blasphemous ideas are widely propagated through the music industry. Now a days, most of the music videos contain blasphemous contents and humiliation to religion, prophets and God. In these videos, nuns are depicted as prostitutes with revealing clothes. Lady Gaga, the leading female pop icon of today after Madonna is openly promoting homosexuality, adultery and Satanism. One of her song is about falling in love with Judas, the man who betrayed Jesus Christ for some gold coins.

Some music genres including Metal and different variants of it, are purely based on the Satanism. The bands affiliated to this kind of music appeared as some evil beings and their lyrics and music videos are mostly based on satanic rituals and blasphemy to religion and God. These metal bands uses reverse cross symbol to their affiliation to Satanism. The reverse cross they use is an opposite to Christian cross means they are against the God and followers of Antichrist. Their music is so provocative against the religion but they are widely accepted and listened all over the world by the youth, because youth is a soft target for them.

John Lennon, the founder member of the Rock band, The Beatles formed in 1960, was shot dead by a fundamentalist Christian named Mark David Chapman. The reason behind that murder was Lennon's statement published in a magazine In 1980 that "The Beatles were more popular than Jesus". The Beatles were also openly declared disbeliever of God.

Different hand symbols are used to depict the Number of Beast (The Antichrist). By making a zero with first finger and the thumb and left open the rest of the fingers makes three sixes (666). Bending the two middle fingers and left open the rest of the fingers makes the symbol of Bephomet. The Bephomet, a goat headed man is an old deity and the depiction of the Devil. These symbols are common among the pop icons. Reverse pentagram is also used to depict the satanic affiliation and it is also a widely used satanic symbol in today’s Pop culture.

The Skull and bone symbol and the number of the beast (666) are also widely used in music industry. These symbols can be easily identifiable in the music videos and the posters of singers and their album DVD covers. The number of beast (666) is used to fulfill the devilish agenda and to promote the Antichrist.

The Illuminati and Freemasonry symbols are also easily identifiable. The eye of providence enclosed in a triangle is the most controversial symbol widely used in music videos today.

The reversed pentagram sign is widely used by modern day occultist and it is officially used by the The Church of Satan. A Logo is not just a random symbol or design but it has a complete representation of some idea by shapes and colors used in it. But the logo designed for 46th Grammy Awards 2004 is basically a pentagram closely resembles with the satanic one..

One of the signs of End Times is that people will dance late into the night. This is also happening today in almost every corner of the world. Night clubs, Discos and Bars are the meeting place for people to drink, gamble and dance all night long. Musical concerts are usually organized in the evening and cover the whole night.

Nudity is one of the prominent elements of modern pop culture. Revealing clothes are worn by women all over the world in the name of fashion. But modern day female pop stars are going way ahead to revealing clothes to complete nakedness. This is also one of the signs of End Times as quoted in Muslim and in Malik:

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: Two are the types amongst the denizens of Hell, the one possessing whips like the tail of an ox and they flog people with their help. (The second one) the women who would be naked in spite of their being dressed, who are seduced (to wrong paths) and seduce others with their hair high like humps. These women would not get into Paradise and they would not perceive the odour of Paradise, although its frag- rance can be perceived from such and such distance (from great distance).

Yahya related to me from Malik from Muslim ibn Abi Maryam from Abu Salih that Abu Hurayra said, "Women who are naked even though they are wearing clothes, go astray and make others go astray, and they will not enter the Garden and they will not find its scent, and its scent is experienced from as far as the distance travelled in five hundred years."

These female singers and actors are now wearing clothes transparent enough to reveal all their body including their private parts. They wear these types of clothes openly in public and media propagate them all over the world through Newspapers, Magazines, Television and Internet. It is a shameful act to gain publicity and to become more famous. This shameful act was recently performed by leading female pop icon Rihanna on the occasion of the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) Awards at Lincoln Center in New York June 2, 2014. These types of revealing dress also worn by other leading female pop icons including Lady Gaga and Britney Spears.

Madonna, the most famous female singer of all time was also the most controversial person. She simulates masturbation when she performed one of her famous song "Like a virgin" onstage. Lady Gaga and R Kelly also simulated sex onstage. What these singers are promoting with their music is Satanism, nudity, fornication and Adultery.

Men are also begun to wear Silk in various forms like silk necktie and clothes made from different variants of silk. Gold chains are so common among the young people because their pop icons wear gold chains.

As we know that gold and silk is forbidden for Muslim men but the modern pop culture has mesmerized our young generation. As a Muslim we must avoid these non-Islamic traditions in the name of fashion and modernization.

Narrated Ali ibn AbuTalib: 

The Prophet of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) took silk and held it in his right hand, and took gold and held it in his left hand and said: both of these are prohibited to the males of my community.

Modern pop culture and Alcoholism are correlative to each other and inseparable. Everyone in the world knows that alcoholism and intoxicants are harmful and produce diseases and severe damage to our internal organs. Intoxicants damage not only a person’s body but it also damages the morality of our society.  That is why it is prohibited in Islam as mentioned in the following hadith:

Narrated Ibn 'Umar: 

Allah's Apostle said, "Whoever drinks alcoholic drinks in the world and does not repent (before dying), will be deprived of it in the Hereafter."

It is also one of the signs of End Times. Statistics shows that the consumption of alcoholic drinks and other intoxicants is huge in these days. Cocaine is used as fashion and being modern in this pop culture. Almost all the singers and actors are addicted to intoxicants. Jean Claude Van Dame, a leading actor of Hollywood and a renowned action hero was also a drug addict and he gave up his addiction to the drugs after he had a near death experience.

Narrated Anas: 

I heard from Allah's Apostle a narration which none other than I will narrate to you. The Prophet, said, "From among the portents of the Hour are the following: General ignorance (in religious affairs) will prevail, (religious) knowledge will decrease, illegal sexual intercourse will prevail, alcoholic drinks will be drunk (in abundance), men will decrease and women will increase so much so that for every fifty women there will be one man to look after them."

What kind of icon are these? And what kind of sick culture is this? Is this called the modernization of the society? I don’t think so. This culture is bringing the total destruction of our society. Muslims are also adopting the modern pop culture rapidly and absorbing its essence either willingly or without knowing it.

I had written an article about it titled as “Mind Control – Our morality is dying”. This disobedience was foretold by Allah’s Apostle:

Narrated Abu 'Amir or Abu Malik Al-Ash'ari: 

that he heard the Prophet saying, "From among my followers there will be some people who will consider illegal sexual intercourse, the wearing of silk, the drinking of alcoholic drinks and the use of musical instruments, as lawful. And there will be some people who will stay near the side of a mountain and in the evening their shepherd will come to them with their sheep and ask them for something, but they will say to him, 'Return to us tomorrow.' Allah will destroy them during the night and will let the mountain fall on them, and He will transform the rest of them into monkeys and pigs and they will remain so till the Day of Resurrection."

Promoters of this culture indoctrinating the essence of this paranoia by using mass media and the people are accepting it either willingly or subliminally.  Their aims are clear; they want to “unleash the beast” (The Antichrist) by spreading the satanic ideas, culture and life style.

کیا انگریزی ذریعہ تعلیم ہماری ترقی کے لیے ضروری ہے

انگریزی تعلیم کے حوالے سے فرمان نواز صاحب کی تحریر[کیا سائنس کی ترقی ہمارے خلاف ہے] نظر سے گزری جو کہ  ایکسپریس کی ویب سائٹ پر ہفتہ، 14جون کو شائع ہوئی۔ یہ تحریر انکے جذبات کا آئینہ ہے۔ انہوں نے کھل کر اپنے جذبات کا اظہار کیا ہے۔انکی یہ جذباتی تحریر انکی پاکستان اور پاکستانی عوام سے دیرینہ محبت کو ظاہر کرتی ہے مگر انکی سمت تھوڑی سی غلط ہے۔ انگریزی زبان کے جو فوائد انہوں نے گنوائے ہیں ان سے اتفاق کرتا ہوں مگر انگریزی کو ذریعہ تعلیم بنانے سے اختلاف کرتا ہوں۔ اس   اختلاف کو  سمجھنے کے لیے  ہمیں  اقوام کے ماضی اور حال پر نظر ڈالنی ہو گی اور اردو                              زبان کی اہمیت کو سمجھنا ہوگا۔

 دنیا کی کوئی بھی قوم ایسی نہیں ہے جس نے کسی اور زبان میں تعلیم حاصل کر کے ترقی کی ہو۔ آپ کے سامنے پورے یورپ کی مثال موجود ہے۔ کسی بھی یورپی ملک میں انگریزی زبان  کو نہ تو سرکاری حیثیت  حاصل ہے نہ ہی  تعلیمی ۔ وہ تمام مضامین اپنی ہی زبان میں پڑھاتے اور سکھاتے ہیں۔ چین اور جاپان تو ایشیا سے تعلق رکھتے ہیں مگر پھر بھی انکے یہاں ذریعہ تعلیم انگریزی نہیں ہے۔تمام مضامین جن میں سائنس اور انجینیرنگ بھی شامل ہیں وہ اپنی ہی زبان میں پڑھاتے ہیں اور بہترین نتائج بھی حاصل کرتے ہیں۔

 مختلف ممالک میں ملازمت حاصل کرنے کے لیے اگر انگریزی کی ضرورت ہے تو اسکو   درجہ دوم کی زبان کے طور پر با آسانی سیکھا جا سکتا ہے۔  ملازمت یا تعلیم کے حصول کے لیے ہماری آبادی کا بہت ہی زیادہ قلیل حصہ ہی سفر کرکے بیرون ملک جاتا ہے۔   اس بات کو وجہ بنا کر  پورے ملک کا زریعہ تعلیم انگریزی کر دینا کسی صورت بھی مناسب نہیں ہے جبکہ ہمارے ملک کی آبادی کا بہت بڑا حصہ دیہاتوں میں بستا ہے جہاں تعلیمی صورت حال ویسے ہی بڑی خستا ہے ۔ انگریزی محض ایک زبان ہے جو کہ کوئی بھی شخص کچھ ہی مہینوں کی محنت کے بعد با آسانی سیکھ سکتا ہے اور اپنے خیالات کو الفاظ کا جامہ پہنانے کے قابل ہو جاتا ہے۔ اسکے لیے بچوں کو انکی معصومیت کے دنوں میں تختہ مشق بنانا کہاں کی عقلمندی ہے۔

مسلمانوں کے عروج کے زمانے میں یورپی اقوام کے فرد عربی زبان سیکھتے ضرور تھے وہ بھی صرف اس لیے کہ مسلمانوں کے علم سے استفادہ  حاصل کرسکیں مگر اپنے ممالک میں عربی کو ذریعہ تعلیم نہیں بناتے تھے۔آپ تاریخ میں سے کوئی ایک مثال سامنے رکھ دیں جس سے پتہ چلتا ہو کہ مسلمانوں کے عروج کے زمانے میں  کسی یورپی قوم نے عربی کو اپنایا ہو یا  اپنا ذریعہ تعلیم بنایا ہو۔ آج ہم لفظ الجبرہ تو سنتے ہیں اور کہتے ہیں کہ یہ عربی لفظ ہے مگر صرف اس نام کے آپ کو ماضی کی  الجبرہ کی کسی کتاب میں عربی نظر نہیں آئے گی جو کسی یورپین حساب دان نے لکھی ہوگی۔ اسپین کا حال تو سب ہی جانتے ہیں، کیاانہوں نے بھی مسلمانوں کے جانے کے بعد عربی کو ذریعہ تعلیم بنایا تھا ؟ یقینا نہیں۔ انہوں نے تو  عربی لباس ، عربی زبان اور عربی ثقافت کا قلع قمع کرنے کی بھرپور کوشش کی، جس میں وہ پوری طرح کامیاب بھی رہے۔ انہوں نے تو مسلمانوں کا علمی زخیرہ تک جلا کر خاکستر کردیاتھا، وہ تمام کتابیں جو عربی زبان میں تھیں چاہے وو مذہبی ہوں یا نہ ہوں صفحہ ہستی سے مٹا ڈالی تھیں۔ اسکے باوجود آج انکا شمار ترقی یافتہ ممالک میں کیا جاتا ہے۔

بابائے قوم محمد علی جناح یقینا ً فر فر انگریزی بولتے تھے لیکن اردو کو قومی اور سرکاری زبان بنانے والے بھی وہ ہی تھے۔ اگر وہ اردو کی اہمیت نہ جانتے ہوتے تو ایسا کبھی نہ کرتے۔ اردو وہ زبان ہے جو پاکستان کے مختلف  علاقوں میں  بسنے والے اور مختلف زبان بولنے والوں مختلف علاقائی ثقافت رکھنے والوں کو  آپس میں جوڑتی ہے۔ اردو جو کہ عربی ، فارسی، ہندی اور کئی زبانوں کا مجموعہ ہے اپنے دامن میں ان سب زبانوں میں موجود علم کو سمیٹے ہوئے ہے اور مزید زبانوں اور ان میں موجود علوم کو خود میں ضم کرنے کی بھر پور صلاحیت رکھتی ہے۔ اس وجہ سے اسکو بولنا اور سیکھنا نہایت آسان ہے۔ اسکا  رسم الخط  بھی عربی پر مشتمل ہے جس سے ایک ایسا شخص بھی واقف ہوتا ہے جو کبھی اسکول ہی نہ گیا ہو کیونکہ ناظرہ قرآن کی تعلیم ہر شخص ہی حاصل کرتا ہے۔ اردو کی بدولت قرآنی عربی سمجھنا  اور آیات کے معنی اور مفہوم سمجھنا انتہائی آسان ہو جاتا ہے۔

مضمون نگار خود  ذہنی طور پر الجھن کا شکار ہیں  اور واضح نہیں کر پارہے کہ کہنا کیا چاھتے ہیں۔ کبھی وہ انگریزی کو ہماری ترقی کا  ذریعہ ثابت کرنے کی کوشش کرتے ہیں اور بعد میں خود ہی لکھتے ہیں کہ ہماری زبوں حالی کی وجہ قدامت پرستی اور بنیاد پرستی ہے زبان نہیں۔ خود ہی  فرماتے ہیں کہ ترقی یافتہ ممالک میں "قومی زبان" کے ساتھ ساتھ ایک  دوسری زبان بھی پڑھائی جاتی ہے لیکن جناب یہاں یہ چاہتے ہیں کہ دوسری زبان کے ساتھ ساتھ قومی زبان بھی پڑھا دی جائے، کیا کریں قومی زبان جو ٹھہری۔ جہاں تک  بات ڈارون کی ہے تو اس پر تفصیل سے آئندہ کبھی لکھوں گا۔ دنیا بھر میں جو لوگ بھی خدا پر ایمان رکھتے ہیں چاہے وہ کسی بھی مذہب سے تعلق رکھتے ہوں انسانی ارتقاء کے نظریے کی مخالفت کر تے ہیں۔ اس نظریے کی شدت سے حمایت صرف دہریے ہی کرتے ہیں۔ اسکی  وجہ صرف یہ ہے کہ اس نظریے کے ذریعے وہ خدا کے وجود کو رد کرنے کی ناکام کوشش کرتے  ہیں۔ محترم،  اگرآپ  صرف نظریہء ارتقاء کو ہی سائنس سمجھتے ہیں اور انگریزی کو سائنس کی زبان سمجھتے ہیں تو آپ سائنس کے حوالے سے انتہائی سطحی معلومات رکھتے ہیں۔ یہ انتہائی غیر منطقی بات ہے کہ سائنس کو کسی ایک زبان کے ساتھ جوڑ دیا جائے۔ انگریزی صرف اور صرف ایک زبان ہے جس  کا ہماری ترقی یا تننرلی سے کوئی تعلق نہیں ہے۔

میں خود ایک استا د ہوں اور یہ بات جانتا ہوں کہ طالب علموں کو انگریزی کی با نسبت اردو میں سمجھانا نہایت آسان ہوتا ہے۔  اپنی زبان میں جو فہم ایک استاد اپنے طلباء کو دے سکتاہے وہ کسی اجنبی زبان میں ممکن ہی نہیں ہے۔ سائنس کو سیکھنے اور سمجھنے کے لیے انگریزی کی کوئی ضرورت نہیں ہے اگر ضرورت ہے تو اس امر کی ہے کہ تعلیمی اداروں اور تعلیم سے وابستہ اساتذہ اور محکمہء تعلیم سے وابستہ افسران اور ماہرین تعلیم کا معیار  جانچا جائے اور انہیں بہتر کیا جائے۔  تعلیمی پالیسیاں اس طرح تیار کی جائیں کے  کارگر ثابت  ہوں اور بجٹ میں تعلیم کے لیے ایک خطیر رقم مختص کی جائے اور نصاب کی ایک مقررہ وقت پر  تدوین کی جائے اور اس پر نظر ثانی کی جائے اور اسے بین الاقوامی معیا ر سے ہم آہنگ کیا جائے۔ انگریزی کو محض ایک زبان کہ طور پر پڑھا یا جائے۔  اگر یہ اقدامات خلوص نیت کے ساتھ اٹھالیے گئے تو ہمیں ترقی کرنے سے کوئی نہیں روک سکتا ہے۔
